On the screen you will see a molecule of ATP, also known as adenosine triphosphate, a biomolecule that provides living organisms with energy in a process reflected by the following chemical reaction:
ATP + H2O => ADP + Pi + chemical energy.
(Note that this reaction only occurs in water, giving the process the term "hydrolysis" from "hydro-" for "water" and "-lysis" for "breaking").
