Welcome to the LH2 module!
The display shows the structure of the Light-Harvesting Complex 2. All photosynthetic processes within the purple bacterial cell originate here within its two rings of chlorophylls. The chlorophylls absorb sunlight and transfer the resulting energy to other proteins in the chromatophore. Here, the LH2 has been embedded within the chromatophore membrane and simulated for 10 nanoseconds.

Chlorophylls - Magenta
Carotenoids - Green
Proteins - Silver
Click and drag anywhere within the display to view the system from different angles. Scrolling the mouse wheel will zoom in and out. Pressing "Play" will run the simulation seamlessly. You can also click "Previous frame" or "Next frame" to move a single frame forward or backward in time.
When you have finished reading through the instructional packet and are ready to move on, click "Next Slide" to proceed to the next section. At any point in time, you can press "Module page" to return to the Module page.
